Agreement with Johnson Controls Creates New Availability Standard for JCI's Building Automation Systems
LITTLETON, Mass. -- Marathon Technologies Corporation, the leading provider of automated, fault tolerant-class availability solutions for virtual and physical environments announced today that it has signed an agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc., the global leader in facility management and control. Under terms of the agreement, Johnson Controls will sell Marathon's everRun solution to its wide breadth of customers, including a number of Fortune 500 companies, many of whom have already expressed interest in a high availability solution for their business.
"Johnson Control's decision to leverage Marathon's everRun high availability technology was driven by increasing market demand for simple, cost-effective highly available solutions," said Steven Thompson, director of fire and security at Johnson Controls. "Offering this cutting-edge product directly to our customers enables us to assure that they can use the hardware vendor they prefer, while achieving the highest levels of availability. everRun's SplitSite option, which provides site disaster tolerance by separating the two halves of the system by miles, will be a major draw to many of our customers that have more than one location."
Marathon's everRun line of fault tolerant software products protects Microsoft Windows applications from leading sources of downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automated, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to prevent application downtime. The primary benefit to the end user is that they are protecting their business by ensuring continuity of operations - simply, at low cost and with complete confidence.
Johnson Controls provides hardware and software for building automation systems offering leading Controls and Facilities Management products such as the Metasys[R] Building Management System and the P2000 security management system, which are used to control airports, some of the largest buildings in the world, mayor facilities such as factories where environmental conditions need to be monitored continuously, communications facilities and others.
"We are pleased to bring everRun to Johnson Controls leading Building Automation product line and its wide spectrum of customers", said Gary R. Phillips, president and CEO of Marathon Technologies. "This alliance will give Johnson Controls' customers that added assurance that their systems and applications will remain up and running."
"Marathon's everRun solution, which is fully supported by Johnson Controls, offers us the high-levels of availability we need for our critical access control system at the airport," said Rob Benstein, operations director of Gerald R. Ford International Airport. "The ease of use and simplicity of the solution make it an ideal fit for our P2000 based building management and access control system."
