A.M. Best Requests Public Comment on Draft Rating Methodology: Understanding BCAR for Title Insurance Companies

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. is requesting comments from market participants in the title insurance industry and other interested parties on a draft of its methodology report "Understanding BCAR For Title Insurance Companies." The draft document is currently available in the Methodology section of A.M. Best's homepage.

The draft methodology report outlines A.M. Best's capital adequacy model as it relates to title insurance, including a detailed discussion of the various components of the model and its implications for A.M. Best's ratings on title insurers.
A.M. Best will consider feedback from any interested parties prior to publishing its methodology report.
Written comments can be submitted by email to rating.methodology@ambest.com, no later than June 20, 2007.
