Bacardi Limited Mourns Death of Manuel Rubiralta Diaz, Executive President of Bacardi y Compania, S.A. de C.V

HAMILTON, Bermuda -- Bacardi Limited mourns the loss of Manuel Rubiralta Diaz, 63, executive president of Bacardi y Compania, S.A. de C.V. Mr. Rubiralta had been overseeing Bacardi's commercial operations in Mexico since 2000.

Manuel was successful in leading Bacardi Mexico out of a difficult operating environment to becoming the leading spirits company in Mexico today. "We will never forget Manuel or the many achievements he accomplished in Mexico. We have all suffered a tremendous loss and our prayers are with Manuel's wife, Susana, and the entire Rubiralta family."

Mr. Rubiralta died unexpectedly yesterday in Bermuda and is survived by his wife and three children.

While at Bacardi Mexico, Mr. Rubiralta had also served as president of Comision de la Industria de Vinos y Licores (CIVYL) and president of Fundacion de Investigaciones Sociales, A.C. (FISAC). Prior to joining Bacardi Mexico, Mr. Rubiralta held leadership positions with Grumo, Grupo Televisa, Pepsico de Mexico, Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc and Colgate Palmolive.

Mr. Rubiralta lived in Mexico. Arrangements have not yet been made.
