Survey Crowns Dairy Queen® King of Shakes

Business Wire, May 23, 2007

MINNEAPOLIS -- Dairy Queen([R]) is shaking things up in the Quick Service Restaurant industry as the first-ever Zagat / Today Show Fast Food Survey and its 5,535 participants hailed DQ([R]) as the king of shakes. Renowned for its signature Blizzard([R]) Frozen Treats, world-famous soft serve and now freshly made waffle bowls and cones, it's no surprise that DQ received 36 percent of the votes for "Best Shake."

Dairy Queen's milkshakes are made with creamy DQ soft serve blended with a choice of delicious flavors, including blueberry, butterscotch, caramel, cherry, hot fudge, marshmallow, peanut butter, pineapple and raspberry, as well as traditional favorites: chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

"As the treat category leader, we set the standard for fresh, high-quality treats," said Michael Keller, chief brand officer for International Dairy Queen. "Our fans really enjoy DQ milkshakes and they came through with their votes. To top a Zagat survey is a tremendous coup."

Served at more than 5,600 locations worldwide, DQ shakes are available in small 16-, 21- and 32-oz. sizes, and sell for an average retail price of $2.83.
