SteelEye Technology Announces Two New Members of Board of Directors
Business Wire, May 24, 2007
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- SteelEye Technology([R]) Inc., a leader in high availability clustering and data protection solutions today announced the addition of technology industry veterans Zev Laderman and Mary-Lou L. Smulders to its Board of Directors.
"Both Zev and Mary-Lou bring valuable insight into the technology marketplace and in depth experience helping companies accelerate success," said SteelEye President and CEO Paul Adams. "I am proud to welcome both to SteelEye's board of directors."
Laderman brings to SteelEye's board over two decades of leadership experience in the technology market. Prior to acting as Chairman and CEO of Aduva, which was acquired in late March 2006 by Sun Microsystems, Laderman was CEO of VerticalNet Solutions, a division of the publicly-traded VerticalNet Inc. (Nasdaq:VERT). He also served as the CEO of Tradeum Inc, a software provider for B2B marketplaces and as the Vice President of the Industrial Sector at Oracle Corp (Nasdaq: ORCL), where he was responsible for establishing the US industrial sector organization, a $500 million business unit, later establishing and running its European counterpart. Laderman earned an LLB degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, an LLM degree from Bar-Ilan University and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Smulders has held a variety of increasingly high-profile leadership positions in technology and in related industries. Before starting a successful consultancy specializing in strategy for venture capital and investment firms, Smulders served as Senior Vice President of Marketing Worldwide for Oracle Corporation. This followed several VP roles within Oracle, as well as successful tenures with Booz Allen Hamilton, ExxonMobil, and Shell Oil. Smulders has served on the boards of directors for such companies as RetailersMarketXchange, GlobalNetXchange, and Unicorn. She graduated with honors from Cornell University's College of Engineering and earned the Suma Cum Laude distinction while obtaining her MBA from Erasmus University's School of Management.
