TapRoot Systems, Inc. Supports Windows Mobile for Beceem Communications WiMAX Chipsets

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- TapRoot Systems Inc., a leading provider of embedded software solutions and reference platforms for smartphones, today announced a collaboration with Beceem Communications (www.beceem.com), the leading mobile WiMAX chipset provider, to support Windows Mobile 6.0 on Beceem's mobile WiMAX chipset.

Global WiMAX infrastructure spending will rocket from $655m today to $7.36bn by 2009, just three short years away, driving the demand for innovative Mobile WiMAX devices according to a brand new report from Rethink Research. In addition, WiMAX spending will go from 22.5% of all broadband wireless spend in 2006 to be the dominant platform in the market, with a 63% share. Wireless will increase its share of the broadband market from 2% to around 17% in the early years of the next decade (2010).
