Univision Movil used the Quattro Wireless platform to successfully launch its new mobile portal, Univisionmovil.com. The Univision Movil site features breaking news, music, horoscopes, entertainment and youth-oriented content. The leading Spanish-language site will employ a number of Quattro's interactive mobile-only, user-participation programs to provide a "sticky" solution specific for the mobile audience. Procter & Gamble, through premier advertising on Univisionmovil.com, has access to Univision's highly sought-after Hispanic demographic. The first entertainment special on the new mobile portal is Nuestra Belleza Latina, a reality beauty competition on the Univision Network, available on the AT&T and Cingular Wireless en Espanol section of Media Net.
Formed in late 2006 and based in Waltham, Massachusetts, Quattro Wireless is led by co-founders Andrew Miller and Eswar Priyadarshan, who serve as Quattro Wireless' CEO and CTO, respectively. Both are former members of the leadership team for mobile media management company m-Qube, and led that organization through its successful acquisition by VeriSign in 2006. Quattro Wireless has closed a $6 million Series A round of funding led by Highland Capital Partners. Bob Davis and Jon Auerbach of Highland Capital serve on the Quattro Wireless Board of Directors.
Adapting--not Stripping--the Rich-Media Internet for All Mobile Devices
The Quattro Wireless mobile web network delivers a next-generation framework for easily and quickly launching adaptive, mobile-optimized websites that are tightly integrated to a network of high-quality advertisers. In addition to enabling the world's most important brands to quickly bring best-in-class mobile web portals to the market, Quattro also links these publishers with targeted advertisers looking to reach the rapidly growing mobile audience.
"Univision Movil offers wireless consumers exclusive content and interactivity with the most popular Spanish-language entertainment in the country. We are pleased to be working with Quattro to make the consumer experience even better and to give our advertisers new and exciting opportunities to reach their target audience," said Javier Saralegui, President, Univision Online.
"It's time to take full advantage of mobile-device technologies to create a mobile Web that delivers for consumers, content providers and major advertisers alike," said Andrew Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Quattro Wireless.
Building Out the Adaptive, Mobile Web
The company will be announcing a series of additional top-tier publishers and advertisers throughout Q2 '07, as the sites and advertising campaigns go live. Later this year, Quattro Wireless will announce full details on the programs and solutions that will create the most comprehensive marketplace for publishers, advertisers and wireless operators to purchase and share advertising inventory, manage and analyze campaigns, and build, launch and manage dynamic, branded Web portals optimized for mobile.
