Vernier Networks Appoints Alan Norquist to Vice President of Marketing
Business Wire, May 7, 2007
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Vernier Networks, the leading supplier of award-winning network access control (NAC) appliances, today named Alan Norquist vice president of marketing. Norquist brings to Vernier Networks more than 17 years of management experience developing and marketing security and IT infrastructure solutions for large and medium-sized enterprises.
"Alan is experienced in driving the growth of innovative products, increasing revenue and expanding the customer base," said Simon Khalaf, president and CEO of Vernier Networks. "His world-class leadership skills and continuous track record of marketing excellence make him an ideal executive for the Vernier team."
Before joining Vernier Networks, Norquist served as vice president of marketing for Imperva, where he launched the company into the leadership position in Web applications and database security. During his tenure, the company experienced 300 percent revenue growth and 120 percent customer growth. Previously, Norquist held vice president of marketing roles at Trovix and Ponte Communications, as well as management positions at Sun Microsystems. Norquist is also the co-founder of Cambridge Technology Partners, and was instrumental in driving the company's growth to $20 million in annual sales when it went public.
"I could not have joined Vernier at a more exciting time," said Norquist. "There is a widespread need to reduce the security and compliance risk associated with laptops, mobile devices, guest access, desktops and other distributed network endpoints. Unfortunately, most existing solutions are extremely difficult to deploy. I am pleased to join Vernier's team to bring to market the only access control solutions that are completely transparent to the customer's existing network infrastructure."
