Cobham Defense Electronic Systems Turns to PixelMEDIA to Create Unified Multi-Division Website
Business Wire, May 8, 2007
Global provider of advanced communication and information systems looks to migrate several divisions under one consolidated web presence
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- PixelMEDIA, Inc., a professional services consultancy focused on Internet enablement, today announced an agreement with Cobham Defense Electronic Systems (formerly Chelton Microwave) to design and develop a robust new website. The challenge: seamlessly incorporate nine separate and well-known divisions into one all-encompassing site, while still maintaining a look and feel consistent with stringent Cobham brand guidelines.

Cobham DES designs and manufactures microwave components, sub-systems, and integrated assemblies for national defense and law enforcement markets. In recent years, Cobham DES has made strategic acquisitions to extend its global reach and strengthen its solution offerings. Established brands that are now part of Cobham DES include Chelton Microwave, Atlantic Microwave, Atlantic Positioning Systems, Continental Microwave, Cobham Defence Communications, Kevlin, Nurad, REMEC Defense and Space, and Sivers Lab.
While these divisions bring their own brand identity and loyalty to Cobham DES, it's important that they gradually assimilate to the Cobham brand. According to Mark Fournier, Director of Sales and Marketing for Cobham DES, "We're sensitive to the brand equity that these divisions have with customers, which is why we want to take a phased, measured approach when building the new website. Our goal is to ensure that both new and existing customers find exactly what they need--by division name or by product--and have a consistent user experience throughout."
PixelMEDIA delivers proven performance to the initiative having worked previously on the Chelton Microwave website. "We've built a great relationship with Chelton over the years," said Thomas Obrey, COO and co-founder of PixelMEDIA. "We welcome the opportunity to strengthen this partnership by delivering a well-organized, streamlined website that's not only on brand, but also best positions Cobham DES to its target markets."
