First EHNAC Financial Services Network Accreditation

Business Wire, May 8, 2007

FARMINGTON, Conn. -- Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) announced JPMorgan Chase as the first financial services organization to receive accreditation for their Financial Serivces Accreditation program. This program and criteria focus on Financial/Banking Clearinghouses that utilize banking resources for HIPAA-defined, health data clearinghouse options. EHNAC's criteria expands its focus on ensuring standards are maintained in the processing and delivery of HIPAA security/privacy and the ANSI 835 (ERA) transaction. Financial/Banking clearinghouses are included in 16 existing criteria on technical requirements, timeliness of transactions, customer service, system availability, capacity and storage/retrieval. Three new criteria that exclusively apply to Financial/Banking clearinghouses were added for the Financial accreditation program.

JPMorgan Chase participated in an independent evaluation of its ability to perform at the highest level of standards for the electronic processing of health information. Key components of JPMorgan Chase's Healthcare Link business operations were thoroughly tested and evaluated, including its technology infrastructure, data security, emergency preparedness, and customer service.

"This marks a significant milestone because JPMorgan Chase is the first bank to pursue this type of accreditation," said Lee Barrett, Executive Director of EHNAC. "JPMorgan Chase proved to our commission that they are fully committed to providing value-added solutions to the healthcare community with the highest standards and quality service."
