Gensym Successfully Concludes G2 8.3 Beta Program
Business Wire, May 9, 2007
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Gensym Corporation (Pink Sheets: GNSM), a leading provider of rule engine software for mission-critical solutions, today announces the completion of the G2 8.3 Rev.0 Beta Program.
With G2 8.3, Gensym continues on its path of major enhancements to G2 that started with G2 8.0. G2 8.3 Beta introduces support for web-based standards, SOAP and Web Services, new business rules analysis techniques and extensions to its BPEL implementation. This optimized interoperable technology enables integrating G2 solutions in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), using G2's rule engine and extended BPEL implementation to orchestrate processes in business applications and also in G2's traditional markets of discrete manufacturing, process industry, government and telecom.
"For years G2's strength has been rapid development and deployment of decision management applications processing events in real time. With the introduction of G2 8.3 Beta and its support for web technologies, G2 now becomes a powerful web server, integrating traditional web server functions with real time rule engine and flexible object management, and will enable us to explore new areas of applications." says Hiro Fukuoka, president of Qualitech Inc.
G2 8.3 Beta also further extends flexibility and usability of the rich client Windows-based user interface introduced in earlier versions of G2 8. These additions enhance user experiences with new presentation styles using 2D/3D charts, schematics, reports and HTML views.
G2 8.3 Beta provides superior developer productivity with enhancements such as built-in business rules analysis techniques and versioning control. Changes within rules or procedural execution, for example, can be automatically managed by G2, keeping track of individual changes for audit purpose and change management. G2 8.3 Beta also includes an application framework and new developer's modules covering numerous patterns such as reporting, charting, messaging, event detection, rule management, data source management and configuration, logging and replay. The application framework includes support for a Telewindows Rich Client user interface and a web-based interface for message browsing and report visualization.
The G2 8.3 Beta program introduced updates to all Gensym G2-based application products, including G2 ReThink 5.1, G2 e-SCOR 5.1, G2 Optegrity 5.1, G2 NeurOn-Line 5.1 and G2 Integrity 5.0.
"We have worked closely with the Gensym engineering team to enhance our intelligent asset monitoring and advanced process control product line based on the beta version of G2 8.3" says Jacek Narozny, manager-Advanced Systems Product Development of SGS Advanced Systems. "By extending G2 Optegrity's architecture and root cause analysis framework, our AHEAD product now tracks key performance indicators and reasons about event causality to provide timely visibility into asset performance at all levels of the enterprise. Our MEC advanced process control platform in turn leverages G2's reasoning capability and G2 NeurOn-Line's modeling features to implement best-practice advanced control solutions that drive significant improvements in process stability and performance".
Gensym is planning to release G2 8.3 and its application products later this quarter.
