CUH2A Attends Groundbreaking for University of Louisville NIH RBL

Business Wire,  May 9, 2007

Center for Predictive Medicine Registered to Receive LEED[R] Silver Certification

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Two representatives from CUH2A--Jeff Dayton, AIA, principal and chief operating officer and Hamza Davis, director of business development--attended the April groundbreaking ceremony for the University of Louisville Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL). Designed by CUH2A, the $34.6 million Center for Predictive Medicine is one of 13 new RBLs being built throughout the country with funding from the National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The center is registered to receive LEED[R] Silver Certification; one of only a handful of complex laboratory facilities qualified to meet such a high standard for sustainability. Researchers in the facility will work to develop vaccines and other countermeasures to fight bioterrorism and emerging infectious diseases. Construction is targeted for completion in August of 2008; with the facility fully operational by January of 2009.

CUH2A architects, engineers and planners specialize in science and technology projects and have designed over 50 high-containment facilities (BSL-3 and BSL-4) to handle the most lethal pathogens. Founded in 1962, CUH2A continues to lead the AEP industry with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dubai, London, New York, San Francisco, and Washington.
