Business Wire, Nov 13, 2007
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- SpikeSource, a provider of packaged and maintained open source solutions, today announced that its flagship application SuiteTwo, the Enterprise 2.0 Collaboration Suite powered by Intel, has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the visionaries quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Team Collaboration and Social Software, 2007"1 report.
"We believe SuiteTwo's position in the visionaries quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant is a huge testimonial to the power of open source collaboration and packaged solutions to drive new market opportunities, like Web 2.0," said Kim Polese, CEO of SpikeSource. "SpikeSource has taken strides to develop a user-friendly interface for all types of Web 2.0 applications. SuiteTwo allows enterprise users the ease of deployment and management, affordable cost and reliable support that they require for adoption throughout the organization."
SocialText, a SpikeSource partner and part of the SuiteTwo solution, was also named as one of the two visionaries in the report, with no overall leaders in the group. With Intel as a channel provider, SuiteTwo allows companies the maximum use of Web 2.0 capabilities. A product of collaboration between Intel, Six Apart (an Intel Capital portfolio company), SocialText, SimpleFeed, NewsGator and SpikeSource, SuiteTwo offers the convergence of complementary advanced applications of blogs, wikis, content aggregation, RSS feeds and search. SuiteTwo demonstrates a fundamental shift towards open, flexible and participatory models of integration between businesses on an open source platform.
"To remain the pre-emminent global events, sponsorship and promotion agency we have to continually improve the way we do business," said Kevin McNulty, chief marketing officer at Momentum Worldwide. "Our global clients simply expect the best and its incumbent upon us to create an environment where our 2000 employees across 73 offices can create efficiently and seamlessly. We believe that implementing SuiteTwo as the backbone of our global communication and collaboration platform will take us to the next level and truly set a standard for how companies like Momentum have to do business today."
