Business Wire, Nov 14, 2007
Partnership provides companies with secure, fast, and cost-effective Application Delivery alternative to Citrix's Presentation Server, Access Gateway, Netscaler and XenDesktop
MILPITAS, Calif. & CLOSTER, N.J. -- Array Networks Inc., a leading provider of optimized and secure universal access and traffic management solutions, and Ericom Software, a leading provider of server-based computing and virtual desktop solutions, today announced a partnership to offer robust, secure application access and delivery solutions. The joint solution combines Array's SPX Universal Access Controller and TMX Application Delivery Controller with Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect products. This end-to-end offering provides companies a fast and cost-effective alternative to Citrix's Presentation Server[TM], NetScaler[R], Access Gateway[TM], XenDesktop[TM] and GoToMyPC[R].
The Array-Ericom offering is ideal for small, mid-size businesses and large enterprises looking to reduce the cost and complexity associated with individual desktop installations. With this partnership, SMBs and enterprises can provide fast, secure and centrally managed access to any application for authorized users, anytime, anywhere. The solution simplifies implementation by centrally installing all applications and desktops on servers behind the firewall.
"There is strong demand from our customers and partners for an alternative to Citrix," said Brian Berns, Ericom's Chief Operating Officer. "There is concern in the market about Citrix's escalating prices and the lack of choices that they force on their customers. Array and Ericom together can provide our partners and customers with a superior solution at a lower cost. Additionally, the ease of implementation and support is a great plus for our services partners."
The combined offering addresses many challenges facing organizations, including protecting sensitive corporate and customer data, and ensuring remote users have secure anywhere, anytime access to data, applications and desktops. Together, Array and Ericom eliminate the complexity of managing and maintaining applications and updates on individual remote desktops. The solution also provides business continuity preparation for man-made and natural disasters.
Array and Ericom will be working with the sales channel for both companies to offer the joint solution. Array will also distribute Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect product line through Array's domestic and international channel partners. The joint solution expedites the sales cycle for VARs and System Integrators, and Proof of Concepts can be set up in hours versus days or weeks.
"Providing our customers with a cost-effective access solution that is the combination of two best-in-class offerings gives us a winning technological edge," said Paul O'Brien, Managing Partner of Lincoln Computer Services. "The ease and speed of implementing robust pilot installations and proof of concept deployments is a major plus in facilitating timely closures and shortening the evaluation and sales cycle. This is a great Citrix alternative for the market."
Array's secure access and application delivery solutions can dramatically increase employee productivity and business agility while streamlining network management and delivering dramatic cost savings. Its SSL VPN systems enable universal access, the ability for IT managers to define end-user access policies in one place, eliminating the need to set up and maintain ACLs on multiple switches and appliances. The TMX Series Application Delivery Controllers are next-generation load balancing and traffic management appliances tightly integrate application (Layer 4-7) services for Internet and intranet data centers in one powerful system.
"Ericom has a solid reputation for providing enterprise customers with advanced application access solutions and we are very pleased to partner with them to offer a superior alternative to Citrix," said Sunil Cherian, Array Networks' Vice President of Product Marketing. "Working in conjunction with Array's Universal Access and Application Delivery product suite, Ericom's Server Based Computing tools help our customers implement a comprehensive Secure Application Access and Delivery architecture without getting locked in to one vendor."
