Court Square Launches Security and Network Solutions Practice

Business Wire, Nov 15, 2007

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Court Square Data Group, Inc., an IT consulting and managed services firm with offices throughout the Northeast United States, announced today that it has launched a Security and Network Solutions Practice for companies in regulated industries, including life sciences and financial services.

"Companies in all industries find themselves increasingly vulnerable to attack by hackers and disgruntled former employees," said Court Square CEO Keith Parent. "Many firms inadvertently expose sensitive data or lose control of their networks and systems because they fail to establish standard policies and practices that would keep them safe. Regulated industries that must ensure their network and security policies and practices align with state and federal regulations are finding it increasingly difficult to comply."

"We've been offering security services for a long time as part of our Technology group but we've actually focused an entire practice around it. We have developed a set of systems-level security and network solutions specifically designed to meet the needs of regulated companies in these industries," said Cori Rolland, Court Square's Vice President of Marketing. "Our network and server security services include a vulnerability audit, security policy review, network or server security design, and security implementation."

During the audit phase Court Square takes a detailed snapshot of the security state of the network or servers, which includes a simulated attack to determine their vulnerability. Analyzing simulated attacks helps us build a Security Posture Assessment and recommend a better way forward," said Scott Bussell, Practice Lead, Security and Network Solutions. "The security policy review applies ISO 17779 and other best-practices to the environments in question and leads to numerous protocol, policy and feature improvements, all with the intent to meet regulated requirements as well." Bussell has 20 years of experience in network design and security implementations and has served some of the nation's leading regulated companies.

"In the final stage," said Rolland, "Court Square will implement these security and network improvements for clients, and will manage them on a subscription basis for those who realize that network and server security are ever-moving targets that are constantly under attack." Rolland notes that Court Square will roll out a range of related services in the coming months.
