Optional Kenne Bell Supercharger Available on Shelby GT500 "Super Snake" Package
Business Wire, Nov 15, 2007
LAS VEGAS -- Shelby Automobiles and Kenne Bell Company have developed an optional supercharger kit for the "Super Snake" package that will increase the power of 2007 and 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 coupes to 725 horsepower. A limited number of Super Snakes will be built per model year at the Shelby Autos facility in Las Vegas, as well as authorized Shelby Mod shops across the country beginning later this year.
"Carroll Shelby is always telling our team that life needs more," said Amy Boylan, President of Shelby Automobiles. "That's why we've teamed up with leading companies like Kenne Bell to leverage their expertise and develop exclusive parts for our post title packages. Working with our performance-driven partners, we're going to deliver one of the most exciting cars in the world."
The Super Snake post-title package enhances the Ford Shelby GT500's handling, styling and power. The primary 600 horsepower model includes a Ford Racing supercharger with a warranty and suspension components developed exclusively for the car with Shelby's partner, Ford Racing. The package can be applied to either a coupe or convertible.
For coupes only, an optional Shelby / Kenne Bell 725 horsepower supercharger (unwarranted) will be available featuring special Shelby badges including an engraved Shelby Super Snake emblem, Shelby plate on the throttle body and anodized aluminum plate with engraved Shelby logo that is machined and set in the manifold. The Shelby / Kenne Bell package is matched to a JBA exhaust.
"We've been working with Amy Boylan, Gary Patterson and their team to develop an optional high performance supercharger kit for the Super Snake package," noted Kenne Bell Company CEO Jim Bell. "Ford engineers built a phenomenal engine for the Shelby Mustang GT500, so it's exciting to have the opportunity to take this amazing machine to the next level. The optional Super Snake package we developed, showcasing over 725 horsepower, will include an upgraded drive shaft, a billet twin 75mm throttle body and boast one of the most powerful superchargers on the market."
While the Super Snake package will be available exclusively through Shelby Automobiles, many of the products comprising the Super Snake package will be available exclusively from Shelby Performance Parts and at authorized Mod centers.
