CINCINNATI -- Sixty-four percent of adults with prescription medications say they have forgotten to take their medications within the past year. Inspired by his father who often forgot to take his medications, Martin Cooper invented the new patented system that simplifies and organizes medications by date and time of day while reminding the user with verbal and visual cues.

Unlike most weekly pill boxes, the MedCenter system consists of 31 daily pill boxes with four compartments so that the users can organize pills by daily dose times. Each day, the user visually matches the day of the months' box with the clock's large LCD date. At each dosage time, the talking alarm clock will remind the user to take his medication.

The compact MedCenter (smaller than a breadbox) is smartly designed to sit in the kitchen to also serve as a visual reminder. The extra large LCD display digital clock has two audio settings (medium and loud) and can be programmed to sound its alarm up to four times a day. "My parents are actually comforted by the sound of the 'lady's voice' reminding them to take their pills," said Cooper.
