Unisys to Assist City of Philadelphia with Video Surveillance System
Business Wire, Nov 19, 2007
BLUE BELL, Pa. -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that the company has been selected to serve as prime contractor on a managed services engagement to install, integrate and support a network-enabled video surveillance system for the city of Philadelphia.
The city intends to use the system in its public safety and citizen-services initiatives. The system will enable the Philadelphia Police Department to store and retrieve video images for subsequent criminal investigation. The Philadelphia police will be responsible for monitoring the cameras.

"We anticipate that Unisys and its partners' work on this surveillance system will help make Philadelphia's streets safer," said Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street. "Deploying this system city-wide will help our police force monitor street activity and help expand the city's capability to identify and prosecute criminal suspects."
Under the contract, Unisys and its partners will deploy 250 video surveillance cameras at city government-selected outdoor locations. The cameras will capture images and send them via a secure wide area network to the city's central monitoring facility staffed and managed by city personnel. An online storage system will maintain those images for forensic evaluation.
The term of the contract is one year, with three one-year options. The contract value for the first year, based on deployment of the first 250 cameras, is approximately $8.9 million. Under the options, the city can order deployment of an additional 250 cameras and continue support services.
Unisys and partners will provide a range of managed services, including deployment, integration and support of the entire video monitoring infrastructure, from cameras through servers and storage systems.
"Unisys believes that this engagement provides a special opportunity to use our proven expertise in managed services for government to benefit the people of Philadelphia," said Reed Laughlin, vice president, Global Public Sector, Unisys. "As a Philadelphia-area company, Unisys feels a strong commitment to use our innovation skills to offer the city of Philadelphia this video surveillance system."

Forward-Looking Statements
Any statements contained in this release that are not historical facts are forward-looking statements as defined in the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. All forward-looking statements rely on assumptions and are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. Statements in this release regarding the total value of the contract assume that 250 cameras will actually be installed in the first year and the City of Philadelphia will continue the contract for the full one year period of the initial term. Because the actual number of cameras installed may fluctuate, and agreements with government agencies are terminable before the end of their terms and are subject to the availability of appropriated funds, the values in this release are not guaranteed. Additional discussion of factors that could affect Unisys future results is contained in periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
