Quanta Uses Sequans Chips for Mobile WiMAX Wave 2 Devices

CUPERTINO, Calif. & PARIS -- SEQUANS Communications, leading WiMAX chipmaker, announced today that Quanta Computer, Inc., the largest notebook computer ODM in the world, is using its chips to build a new line of Mobile WiMAX devices now entering the market. Quanta has been working with Sequans for over a year and is developing multiple devices based on Sequans' award-winning SQN1130 Mobile WiMAX chip. These devices include: ExpressCards, PCI Express Minicards, PCMCIA cards, SDIO modules, IADs, USB dongles, and indoor CPE.
The Sequans SQN1130 chip, recently named "best chip design" by WiMAX World USA, is WiMAX Forum Wave 2 ready, including both PHY and MAC layers and 2X2 MIMO. The SQN1130 chip delivers industry-leading high throughput, low power consumption, and superior receiver sensitivity as a function of Sequans' patent-pending mimoMAX[TM] technology.
