University Study Highlights Florida's Economic Future via Teleconference

Business Wire, Nov 26, 2007

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida faces catastrophic economic losses in the next several decades if climate change continues unabated. A new report by Tufts University, commissioned by Environmental Defense, entitled "Florida and Climate Change: The Costs of Inaction." provides Florida's citizens with a fair comprehensive view of the true costs of climate change. The report is the first detailed analysis of probable climate-related costs to Florida's economy and gross state product. It compares two specific climate scenarios: a pessimistic "business-as-usual case" and an optimistic "rapid stabilization case."

Frank Ackerman, PhD researcher and co-author from Tufts University will give a presentation and answer questions about the report.
