CrossComm Selected for Durham Performing Arts Center Web Design
Business Wire, Nov 27, 2007
DURHAM, N.C. -- One year from now, the most popular Broadway shows and the hottest musicians on tour will be booked at The Durham Performing Arts Center. In the meantime, Nederlander/PFM, the operator of the new theater, has booked its ticket for an engaging Web site to showcase the new venue with its selection of Durham-based CrossComm.
CrossComm is a natural choice to develop The Durham Performing Arts Center Web site, according to J.L. "Lynn" Singleton, the president of Nederlander/PFM, the partnership responsible for operations, management and programming at the new theater. "CrossComm is notable for its Web work on behalf of the Durham Chamber of Commerce, Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Durham Rescue Mission among many other organizations in this region and nationally," said Singleton. "Success stories like these point to a great experience."
The Durham Performing Arts Center is a 2,800 seat multi-use theater currently under construction that will offer a variety of first-run Broadway shows, concerts, family shows and other events. The $44 million theater is the creative brainchild of Szostak Design and will give Durham a spectacular architectural and cultural landmark for performing arts and entertainment, drawing audiences from around the region and across the state to more than 100 performances a year.
PFM is known for managing and operating theaters in mid-size markets around the country. This partnership with the Nederlander Producing Company of America includes management of programming and performance booking, which will give Durham access to world-class Broadway and musical performances. Located downtown in the American Tobacco Historic District adjacent to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, The Durham Performing Arts Center will be the largest of its kind in North and South Carolina. It features impressive sightlines with the farthest seat located only 134 feet from the stage, and a stage-house that will accommodate Broadway's largest and most popular productions. www.nederlander.com
