Enigmatec Announces First Outsourcing Collaboration with Atos Origin on Run Book Automation
Business Wire, Nov 27, 2007
UK Financial Company Earmarked for First Joint Atos Origin and Enigmatec Outsourcing Pilot
LAS VEGAS, Nev. & LONDON -- Enigmatec (www.enigmatec.com) has announced a European collaboration with a major outsourcer for its policy-based IT process automation and management tools. International IT services provider Atos Origin is exploring further ways to optimise its IT operations following a successful proof of concept for Enigmatec's best-in-class Run Book Automation solutions. This proof of concept demonstrated significant time savings and the next phase - to deliver to customers - begins in December 2007, with a UK financial services company.
Atos Origin is one of few global companies providing the entire 'design, build, and operate' elements of a business solution. Enigmatec was selected for projects within Global Managed Operations, which manages core IT infrastructures, including datacenters, desktop support, server farms and network communication systems, on behalf of clients in targeted industries.
Stephen Holmes, chief solutions architect for Atos Origin said "Enigmatec is providing the orchestration layer to glue together the new world of on-demand virtualized IT environments with our existing technology and processes and deliver an ITIL-based service in a dynamic way. Enigmatec's expertise is an addition to Atos Origin's move to a pricing model for virtualized environments based on its Logical Utility Computing Environment, rather than one based on a per server or image basis".
Atos Origin selected Enigmatec following a detailed evaluation of the market. The successful project proof of concept demonstrated that Enigmatec automated IT processes and accelerated provisioning, and crucially also provided integration and compliance with established ITIL processes across both virtual machines and legacy systems.
"You can't manage operations in the same way when moving from a traditional static infrastructure to a dynamic virtual environment. Enigmatec provides the vital, automated agility layer and the integration between the two," says Stephen Holmes. "We can focus on the business processes rather than the underlying technology regardless of whether that is new or legacy."
"We are delighted to be collaborating with a major outsourcing provider like Atos Origin," said Kevin Lomax, chairman of Enigmatec. "We look forward to helping them unleash the power of their virtualized and legacy environments and dramatically reduce the costs required to operate them."
