Hooper Holmes Chooses Plasmon's Archive Solutions for Fast Legal Discovery and Worry-Free Compliance with Email Archiving
Business Wire, Nov 28, 2007
BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Plasmon (LSE: PLM), the trusted source in archiving solutions, today announced Hooper Holmes, Inc., the leading provider of risk assessment services for the insurance industry, selected Plasmon to fulfill the firm's need for fast legal discovery and worry-free compliance for email archiving.
Hooper Holmes, which previously relied on backup tape to retain all emails, needed a solution that would mitigate business risk by ensuring that their emails could be efficiently retained, rapidly searched, and easily accessed for compliance purposes. Hooper Holmes chose a Plasmon archiving solution because it provides reliability, ease of data retrieval, compliant authentication, and long-term retention and deletion requirements.
"When you consider that we receive nearly 30,000 emails on a daily basis, and regulations mandate that every email we send and receive be kept for up to three years, there was no question that we needed a long-term, easily accessible archive solution," said Art Cooper, System Administrator, Hooper Holmes. "Plasmon's archival solution has provided us with an easy way to protect our assets while ensuring we are in compliance with industry regulations."
Hooper Holmes worked with Plasmon partner Data Archive Corporation to find a solution that would meet its need for managing and retaining this vast number of emails. Data Archive has been a Plasmon partner for more than a decade. With the knowledge and experience of Data Archive, Hooper Holmes was able to integrate the Plasmon UDO Library with QStar Technology's HSM data management solution and Archive One, C2C's email archiving solution, to gain more security, flexibility, and control over their archived data.
"With email now the most commonly used medium for business communication, companies must have a reliable archive solution in place to ensure they can retain emails for e-discovery and compliance reasons," said Paul Greene, President, Data Archive Corporation. "Plasmon's archive solutions deliver compliant archival storage and unmatched data longevity with a very low total cost of ownership; the perfect combination for Hooper Holmes. The Plasmon archival solution was installed within an hour's timeframe and has performed flawlessly since the day it was implemented. In fact, the company has already seen great success in using the solution for e-discovery purposes."
"Plasmon is seeing strong interest in our archival solutions as a result of corporate governance and regulatory compliance standards, as well as for e-discovery purposes," said Mike Koclanes, chief strategy officer and senior vice president, sales and marketing, Plasmon. "The success Hooper Holmes has experienced is evidence of the strength of Plasmon's solutions in situations where companies need to address massive data growth and reduce business risk."
