Business Wire, Nov 28, 2007
Former AMR Executive to Provide Financial Domain Expertise to Strengthen Product and Service Offerings for Enterprise-Wide Strategic Planning and Financial Management
AUSTIN, Texas -- Planview[R], the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, today announced the addition of Randy S. Leiser, principle at Golden Creek Management and Capital Solutions LLC, as its new CFO in Residence. Leiser is the second executive to serve in the Planview visiting expert program, following Sean Worthington, who served as CIO in Residence earlier this year. Formally announced in January 2007, the Planview Executive in Residence program was established to host a series of experts who bring an elevated level of industry experience, expertise and customer insight to the organization.
As the CFO in Residence, Leiser will work closely with Planview to develop best practices and processes for financial planning, investment strategy and benefit realization within Planview PRISMS[R] Process Library, an industry-leading IT business management process knowledge base and best practices library. He will also consult directly with Planview executives and customers to lend his deep financial expertise and help shape product offerings, implementations and methodologies.
"With increased regulations and market pressures facing financial executives, it's difficult to balance the roles of strategic planner and decision maker within the organization," said Leiser, Planview's CFO in Residence. "Planview has the tools and approach in place, and I look forward to helping them raise the bar and further meet the needs of today's financial executives."
A seasoned practitioner with more than 20 years of experience as a financial planner, treasurer and CFO, Leiser brings knowledge and passion for creating project and service portfolios that deliver improved strategic planning and decision making. He held several positions at AMR, the parent company of American Airlines, including vice president of finance and information systems for the cargo division, managing director for corporate financial planning and managing director for corporate development. During his time at AMR, Leiser was directly responsible for managing major investment spending decisions, including IT initiatives, and successfully architected the Sabre spin off as an independent business entity.
"Leiser's rich background in corporate financial management, combined with his deep familiarity with managing technology investments in large organizations, is a welcome addition to Planview's knowledge base as we continue to serve these disciplines in complex corporate environments," said Patrick Tickle, executive vice president of products at Planview.
Former Executive in Residence, Sean Worthington, currently with Cisco, helped Planview develop best practices for application portfolio management and brought experience using service portfolio management to lower IT operational costs, thereby creating additional budget to drive innovation and strategic initiatives.
