MB Financial Completes the Sale of Union Bank and Announces Expansion of Stock Repurchase Program

CHICAGO -- MB Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBFI) announced today that it has completed the sale of Union Bank, N.A. based in Oklahoma City to privately-held Olney Bancshares of Texas, Inc.

The completion of this transaction allows MB Financial to concentrate its resources on growth and expansion in the Chicago metropolitan market where it operates 68 offices under the name MB Financial Bank, N.A.

In addition, MB Financial announced its intention today to expand its existing stock repurchase program from 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 shares. These shares will be purchased in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions from time to time over a twelve-month period depending upon market conditions. A portion of the proceeds generated from the sale of Union Bank will be used to fund this program. To date under this program, the Company has repurchased 1,928,270 of its outstanding shares.
