KidCARE Medical Television Network Launches Digital Televison Network
Business Wire, Nov 30, 2007
TAMPA, Fla. -- KidCARE Medical Television Network ("KidCARE TV"), an advertiser-supported television network for pediatric offices, announced today that it successfully completed its test launch of 100 pediatric offices across the country. The network, the latest brand of Care Media Holdings Corp., is programmed to deliver advertiser-supported, educational content to a targeted audience of approximately 16 million parents of patients of more than 45,000 pediatricians.
KidCARE TV offers engaging health care programming that creates awareness about preventative health care measures while educating parents on specific child-related issues and illnesses. Continually updated health care segments and advertising is streamed directly to pediatric waiting rooms on a system that consists of a 32" or 42" flat panel LCD screen, a digital receiver/storage unit, and wi-fi or hard-wired broadband connection.
KidCARE TV recently previewed these results as an exhibitor at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Convention in San Francisco where it was a blue ribbon sponsor. Following the enthusiastic reception at the AAP, the Company has accelerated the installation of the next 900 pediatric offices to now be completed by December 31, 2007.
Philip M. Cohen, CEO of Care Media Holdings, said, "We take great pride in our ability to identify specific areas of concern to mothers and to produce programming content to address them. But rather than relying on our years of medical waiting room programming experience, we chose to test, test, and further test the programming content, commercial frequency acceptance, and the software/hardware systems we use." Cohen continued, "We observed and identified areas where we could do better and we tweaked aspects needed to be able to report a complete success of the trials. The mothers responded well, the doctors and their staffs responded well, and now we are addressing the audience numbers for our advertisers while continuing to deploy the network."
KidCARE TV has entered into an agreement with Nielsen Media Research (www.nielsenmedia.com) to conduct a media compliance audit and an in-depth demographic and audience study. The study recently began and will continue through December. This study will provide an independent, statistically sound and industry-accepted verification for advertisers who will receive results of the study in January 2008.
Be Media of El Segundo, CA (www.bemedia.com) has been selected by Care Media Holdings as the national deployment company for KidCARE TV and is contracted to install the hardware systems and deliver the programming via broadband. The content is produced by KidCARE TV's production team in Burbank, CA in strict accordance with standards set by the AAP. KidCARE develops its scripts under the guidance of its Pediatric Advisory Board comprised of Fellows of the AAP with input from a Mother's Advisory Council.
