Avnet Electronics Marketing Named Distributor of the Year by Tyco Electronics

PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, part of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has been named Distributor of the Year by Tyco Electronics Ltd. (NYSE: TEL).
Avnet was selected to receive the award based on its performance during Tyco Electronics' fiscal 2007 calendar year, which ended in September. "Tyco Electronics distributors must have the ability to develop new customers, backed up by a strong inventory position to enable them to deliver superior service. Avnet Electronics Marketing's superior performance in year-on-year bookings, billings, point-of-sale, branch sales support, and customer focused programs, has resulted in overall sales and market share growth for both Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas and Tyco Electronics in the Americas," said Jack Voelmle, vice president of Global Industrial and Commercial Americas.
