Snap.com Launches Snap Ad Network

User-Demanded Content Combined with "Hypercontextual" Ad Deliver More Valuable Information
NEW YORK -- Snap.com today announced the launch of the Snap Shots Ad Network, a new program that allows advertisers to deliver content with associated context-based ads to millions of Snap Shots[TM] users.
"Snap Ad Network ads are 'hypercontextual' in that they are associated with content the user wants to see and are delivered in such a way that the user cannot help but see them," said Tom McGovern, Snap.com CEO.
Launched in November 2006, Snap Shots are a radical departure from the traditional way people browse the Web. When a Web site is Snap Shot-enabled, users request a shot by mousing-over on a link enhanced by Snap's technology; they are instantly delivered a small window providing additional content related to the subject of the link or enabled text. By delivering this contextually-relevant content, the Snap Shots service gives users a faster, more linear surfing session and offers publishers a simple way to enhance the Web site experience.
With the new Snap Shots Ad Network, advertisers may now reach users of the Snap Network through an added-value service that stands out among other ad networks in the following three ways:
* FOCUS. Each time a Snap Shot is delivered, the Snap Shot window displays both the information the user specifically requests AND a contextually-relevant advertisement, centered directly where the viewer's eyes are focused.
* REACH. Today, over 2,000,000 Web site operators, bloggers and individual Web surfers voluntarily use Snap Shots on their sites and browsers. Snap Shots is used about 15 million times daily and has been translated into 43 languages by volunteers.
* CONTEXT. Because each ad is matched to the content of the information being served, click-through rates are dramatically higher than typical Web page advertisements.
Initially, the Snap Shots Ad Network will offer three compelling ad formats that range from simple text-based units to expandable rich media. Examples of the formats can be found at http://www.snap.com/advertisers/.
