Managed Services expert will discuss "building trust networks" during conference at Zhejiang University focusing on the role of information technology in financial services

CINCINNATI -- Managed Services expert John Bostick will invoke the words of Confucius, a 14th Century mathematician, an English novelist and an American psychologist this week when he speaks at the International Conference on Information Technology for Financial Services (ICITFS) 2007 at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Bostick, CEO of dbaDIRECT, a leader in remote monitoring and automated management of database administration services, will deliver a speech on "Building Trust Networks through a Commitment to Intelligent Process and Service Design."

"Trust in your technology networks and your market community is a critical success factor in today's global economy," Bostick said. "In fact, trust networks have always been the vital element in international business."

Bostick elaborated from an historical perspective: "Go back thousands of years to the creation of money. The seller of five cubits of rice had to trust that the buyer's five Roman coins were really made of gold and could be used for other valuable goods and services. Well, trading partners back then at least saw each other face to face. Trust looms even larger in our around-the-clock world, as we purchase millions of dollars in products and services electronically from trading partners we may never see or meet in the flesh."

ICITFS 2007 provides an open discussion and exchange forum and is hosted by State Street Technology Zhejiang (SSTC), Insigma Hengtian and Zhejiang University.

Other issues Bostick will address in his speech are: two 3-part models for intelligent process and service design; and, three lessons for building trust networks.

Bostick, the author of many published columns and commentaries on Managed Services, also will share his insights on trust in the global economy in a new essay entitled "Trust is the New Money" to be released later this month.
