Clarus Systems Beats 18 Other Solution Providers to Take Category Honors

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- Clarus Systems, Inc., a leading provider of integrated management and testing solutions for IP Communication deployments, upgrades and transformations, today announced it was awarded "Best Tools" category in an Application "Bake-Off" at last week's CIPTUG (Cisco IP Telecommunications Users Group) 2007 Annual Conference. The accolade, judged by end user attendees, was bestowed upon Voice Monitor, the latest module within ClarusIPC Plus , which helps users monitor voice quality, service availability, and security conditions through the use of a sophisticated rules and policy engine.

CIPTUG is the official organization for anyone using Cisco IP telecommunications products. The CIPTUG 2007 Annual Conference provides a forum where the global IP telecommunications community can share their experiences, insights, concerns and solutions. The Application Bake-Off provided a unique opportunity for attendees to participate in live demos and offer direct, valuable feedback to application developers on new or not-yet-released applications. The Application Bake-Off competition was open to CIPTUG member and non-member IPT vendors, as well as CIPTUG end user members. The program offered a rare opportunity for application development teams worldwide to showcase the latest uses of IP technology, and be judged by the very people who buy and use the technology when it first hits the market. The purpose of the Application Bake-Off competition for end users and vendors is to:

* Drive innovative application development for Unified Communications

* Close the gap between customer needs and developers

* Learn what applications have been, or can be developed for converged networks

* Showcase the return on investment for Unified Communication solutions and associated applications

* Provide a platform for CIPTUG vendor members and other participants to differentiate their solutions

"We are honored to receive this prestigious award," said Brendan F. Reidy, President and CEO of Clarus Systems. "This recognition is truly exemplary because Voice Monitor was selected by the Cisco users who are in the trenches on a daily basis, battle-testing applications that help manage their IP Telephony deployments and operations run more effectively. ClarusIPC Plus is much more than just an automated testing 'tool' - it truly offers end-to-end IPT lifecycle management with troubleshooting and diagnostics, business intelligence and reporting, and voice monitoring."

As further validation that Clarus Systems was well-deserving of this distinction, during an October 31st "Pass the Mic" session at CIPTUG (attended by end users, vendors and Cisco executives), a Clarus customer publicly lauded ClarusIPC and the resulting success from this application. "Hearing our customers deliver an impromptu public testimony about their success with ClarusIPC is testament to our development team and their ability to engineer an end user focused product that delivers value and leverages the power of Cisco's Unified Communications Manager," said Richard Whitehead, CTO, Clarus Systems.

ClarusIPC and ClarusIPC Plus , an enhanced version complete with Voice Monitoring, continue to be utilized by enterprises, systems integrators and managed service providers (MSPs) to support the deployment and optimization of Cisco's Unified Communications Manager solution. ClarusIPC is scalable and offers remote certification, configuration analysis, and troubleshooting - further validating operational integrity while building the foundation for a Unified Communications network. ClarusIPC is the only testing solution endorsed by Cisco in the Best Practices guide, "Steps to Success."
