Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs Deliver Precise Control of Sylantro Systems-Based Business VoIP Services

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Acme Packet[R] (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that Bandwidth.com has deployed Acme Packet's Net-Net[R] session border controllers (SBCs) to support its VoIP services for small and medium business throughout the United States. Bandwidth.com, a nationwide business voice and data service provider, has deployed Acme Packet's SBCs along with Sylantro's Synergy[R] multiplay application feature server to enable the security and high quality of BandwidthVoIP, its hosted VoIP solution, and SIP Trunks, its solution for connecting business customers with IP PBX to the PSTN. Bandwidth.com serves more than 3,500 business customers nationwide as a single source for purchasing, deploying and maintaining advanced Internet and voice business products.

Acme Packet's Net-Net SBCs secure Bandwidth.com's network while maximizing its service reach and assuring its service quality. Acme Packet's Net-SAFE[R] security architecture protects the service delivery infrastructure as well as customer networks with denial of service (DoS) protection, session authorization and topology hiding. Hosted NAT traversal enables VoIP calls to traverse existing data firewall/NAT devices at business premises to maximize Bandwidth.com's service reach. Acme Packet's programmable header manipulation tool allows Bandwidth.com to rapidly achieve interoperability with customer equipment, speeding time to revenue. The flexible routing policies on the Net-Net SBCs enable call routing based on defined criteria, helping Bandwidth.com optimize its revenue and profitability.

"Our business is about delivering sophisticated communication service offerings without any hassle or expense to the customer," explained David Morken, President and COO, of Bandwidth.com. "Acme Packet's Net-Net SBCs ensure that our premium business VoIP services can be rapidly deployed and effectively controlled, giving peace of mind to both our customers and ourselves."

"Acme Packet's SBCs are ideally suited to the needs of hosted VoIP and SIP trunking services, delivering the critical reliability and precise control that service providers require," said Seamus Hourihan, vice president of marketing and product management at Acme Packet. "As Acme Packet works closely with our partners like Sylantro, service providers like Bandwidth.com can offer a highly compelling, feature-rich suite of business VoIP services while enjoying best-in-class security and rapid time to deployment."

Over 30 service providers worldwide have deployed Sylantro's Synergy platform in conjunction with Acme Packet's Net-Net SBCs at their IP access border, including Bandwidth.com. Acme Packet is participating as a Silver Sponsor at the Sylantro Global Summit, an annual gathering of service providers and ecosystem partners, in Las Vegas, NV, from September 30 to October 2, 2007.
