Company announces charter implementation customers, the first to use latest Software as a Service (SaaS) offering including HR and talent management functionality
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced it will showcase the new Lawson Strategic Human Capital Management suite at the 2007 HR Technology Conference in Chicago. Lawson will provide the first public view of the software suite during the HR Technology 'HCM Battle,' pitting Lawson's best-of-suite approach to human capital management (HCM) software against the offerings of Workday and Oracle as the three companies demonstrate their systems' HCM functionality. The new best-of-suite solution from Lawson combines a global core human resources system with strategic HCM, including new talent management functionality in a single software suite.

Because it combines core HR functionality with strategic HCM capabilities, Lawson Strategic Human Capital Management is designed to help an organization strategically manage, develop and retain employees and improve its ability to identify and develop top talent and emerging leaders. It also helps increase profitability by linking an organization's people to its business strategy. By identifying and optimizing talent, organizations will be better positioned to maximize employee effectiveness and efficiency, ultimately supporting improved profitability. The strategic HCM functionality is delivered on top of a powerful core HR system for managing payroll, benefits, employee self service and other essential functionality needed to manage an organization's global HR activities.
"We intend to win the HCM Battle hands-down," said Larry Dunivan, vice president of Global Human Capital Management Products for Lawson. "Strategic Human Capital Management marks the next significant step in making HR a much more strategic part of an organization. We will showcase innovative technology that will help our customers - including large, global organizations - see great improvements in the successes of their workforces by helping them do a much better job managing, developing and retaining talent."
The new suite, delivered via a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, is being developed using the Lawson Landmark Application Designer, allowing Lawson to design applications for service-oriented (SOA) IT environments. Using Landmark, Lawson simplifies applications by reducing the amount of code needed for development, which can significantly reduce the work needed for organizations to implement and use the applications. In addition, SOA increases flexibility by allowing maintenance and upgrades to be made when and where they are needed.
More than 1,100 companies use Lawson Human Capital Management applications to manage talent, automate administrative HR processes and help HR staff focus on more strategic, value-added employee initiatives. Lawson Human Capital Management applications provide organizations with the information they need to maximize workforce potential, while helping HR leaders contribute to organizational excellence with applications that directly support business operations.
