Drexel's LeBow College of Business Ranked Among Top 10 in U.S. for Entrepreneurship Programs
Business Wire, Oct 10, 2007
PHILADELPHIA -- Drexel University's LeBow College of Business has been named one of the nation's top 10 schools for entrepreneurs in the latest Entrepreneur-Princeton Review rankings, released today, of graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship programs.
In a survey of 900 schools, LeBow College of Business placed third for undergraduate programs and seventh for graduate programs, making it the top choice for programs in Greater Philadelphia. The survey will be featured in Entrepreneur's November issue.
LeBow College achieved the ranking based on key criteria, including the entrepreneurial emphasis of the curriculum, mentoring, experiential learning, faculty credentials and the success of graduating students and alumni. Results of the survey suggest that LeBow, through its Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology, demonstrates a commitment to hands-on experiential learning to provide the skills that translate into real-world businesses.
LeBow College of Business offers an undergraduate concentration in entrepreneurship and a concentration at the graduate level as well as a minor in entrepreneurship accessible to students from other colleges and schools in Drexel University. The College's New Venture Projects Online program illustrates the commitment of LeBow College and the Baiada Center to connecting students with new ventures, providing entrepreneurs and students with the benefits of working together.
All courses take place in the Baiada Center and dovetail with the Center's other offerings, including StartUp!, a summer camp for high-ability high school students; business plan and entrepreneurial skills workshops; a regional entrepreneurial breakfast series; and an annual entrepreneurship conference that includes a business plan competition. The Baiada Center serves as an incubator for 11 startup companies that are past winners of business plan competitions and provides the companies, along with companies throughout the region, development through its Growth Acceleration Program.
