Gift Provides Protection Against Viruses, Spam, Phishing and Spyware

ISLANDIA, N.Y. -- CA (NYSE: CA) today announced that it has donated 225,000 licenses of its newly-released line of 2008 Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Spam software to Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), to protect the infrastructure of Clubs' networks nationwide. The donation furthers its three-year, $4.6 million National Information Technology Security Program with the organization.

CA's software donation will serve the organization's network of more than 4,000 Clubs across the country. The software will help protect approximately 75,000 PCs used by the BGCA staff and Club members against viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, adware, phishing attacks and malicious Web sites.

"CA's donation will help keep our PCs running smoothly and protected against Internet threats, so that our staff can work safely and efficiently and the children can do homework, play games or surf the Web," said Bill Regehr, senior vice president of Information Technology for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. "We greatly appreciate this investment in the future of our communities and our country."

To mark the donation, CA and BGCA hosted a kick-off event at the Oyster Bay Boys & Girls Club in N.Y., which also served as an educational forum to teach children about Web safety.

"It's essential that BGCA be able to concentrate on serving our communities' youth without the added burden of worrying about keeping their computers protected from online threats," said George Kafkarkou, senior vice president and general manager, Threat Business Organization, for CA. "CA is glad to help by providing our Internet security software and ongoing threat updates."
