Getting Its Environmental Groove On, The Vision Grove Sponsors The Echo Project
Business Wire, Oct 11, 2007
ATLANTA -- Music, art, community and the environment. They naturally go together, and sponsoring The Echo Project was a natural for The Vision Grove. As an online community where people meet, interact, and share creative works, The Vision Grove's philosophy stems from the belief that creative contribution empowers the growth of the community.
Mixing music with key environmental issues, The Echo Project combines three days of performances by bands like Phil Lesh and Friends, moe., and Umphrey's McGee with clean-up efforts on the Chattahoochee River. The Atlanta festival runs from October 12 - 14, 2007. "As a group of creatives that is environmentally active, The Vision Grove is a perfect fit, and we're thrilled to have them as a sponsor of The Echo Project," stated festival promoter Nicolas Bouckaert.
Fans of the music group Phish, The Vision Grove founders, Greg and Jessica McGuire, got the idea for TheVisionGrove.com while following the band in the summer of 2003. Both say that they wanted to develop a space that encouraged creative people to connect with other creative people. "We used to love going to music festivals, not only for the concerts, but for the amazing people we would meet in the parking lots before the shows," said Jessica McGuire. "We want our site to be a place where people go when they can't go to shows, a place where they can meet up and chat with old and new friends. That's why we are so excited to be a part of The Echo Project."
To commemorate the festival, The Vision Grove will be offering a limited number of disposable cameras to people who stop by its booth. Photos taken on these cameras will be posted on TheVisionGrove.com after the show.
