PRTM to Discuss "Making Collaboration Drive Results" in Electronics Industry
Business Wire, Oct 15, 2007
Management Consultant Mike Uhl to Provide Operational Excellence Insights at 11(th) Annual Electronics Supply Chain Association Conference
SAN DIEGO -- As shareholders and CEOs of today's fast-paced electronic equipment companies mandate that the C-suite achieve operational excellence on a global scale, Mike Uhl, Director, PRTM Electronic, Semiconductors, and Software Industry Group, has observed the challenges and opportunities that arise.
"Achieving operational excellence means moving the key profit and loss metrics that matter every quarter--including revenue, gross margin, and cash to cash cycle time. In a complex global environment where many key functions are outsourced, delivering this level of breakthrough performance requires multi-tier collaboration capabilities and information," Uhl said.
Uhl will present the "Making Collaboration Drive Results" session at the 11(th) Annual Electronics Supply Chain Association Conference & Expo, Oct. 29-31 in Santa Clara, Calif. The Electronics Supply Chain Association (ESCA) is the preeminent networking and knowledge platform for executives in the electronics supply chain sector.
Uhl has over 17 years of experience in new operations development, operations transformation, and operations integration across the semiconductor and electronic equipment industries. He has worked with companies ranging from Fortune 50, private equity turnarounds, and venture-backed start-ups, significantly improving their operational performance. He has served in interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Senior Vice President of Operations line management roles driving significant profit and loss improvements.
Prior to joining PRTM, Uhl held executive-level positions in production management and engineering at General Motors Corporation and Ford Motor Company. Uhl is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BS in mechanical engineering. He also received his Master's degree in manufacturing management from Stanford University. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS, he is an author and frequent speaker about operational innovations in the electronics industry.
Uhl's qualifications are uniquely suited to ESCA's 11th annual conference, "Optimizing Performance Across the Electronic Supply Chain." Unlike other industry associations, ESCA is dedicated to helping the industry improve time to market and product margins by better managing the entire supply chain.
ESCA participants represent the full spectrum of the electronics supply chain including fabless semiconductor companies, assembly houses, foundries, contract manufacturers, distributors, logistics services providers, hardware and software solutions providers and consultants.
The October 29-31 conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, Calif. Keynote presenters include Jim Miller, Vice President, Product Operations, Worldwide Manufacturing for Cisco Systems; Paul Brody, Partner, Global Business Services Global Lead, Electronics Industry Strategy Practice, IBM Global Business Services; and Beth McKone, Vice President of Worldwide Program Management and Supply Chain Solutions at Solectron.
