Mendocino Software Enhances Email Recovery & Availability with InfiniView 2.1 for Microsoft Exchange Server
Business Wire, Oct 15, 2007
FREMONT, Calif. -- Mendocino Software, the industry-leading provider of enterprise-class application data availability and access solutions, today introduced InfiniView[TM] Version 2.1 for Microsoft Exchange Server, bringing advanced recovery options and expanded platform support to its industry-leading recovery solution for Exchange customers.
With its latest release to optimize recovery for Exchange 2007, Mendocino has added enhanced support for Volume Shadow copy Service (VSS) and Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) and improved usability in ways that speed Exchange recoveries. In addition, InfiniView for Exchange 2.1 taps into 64-bit computing power with support for Windows 64 on x64 Intel and AMD platforms.
Microsoft Exchange is increasingly becoming a mission critical application, and companies need to be able to recover it more rapidly than ever before. Mendocino's InfiniView for Exchange offers faster recovery than conventional data protection technologies while at the same time minimizing the impact of backup operations and increasing the overall availability of Exchange environments. Using InfiniView for Exchange, customers can recover individual mail messages, calendar/task/note items, mailboxes, public and private folders, or entire Exchange databases without ever having to perform brick-level backups again.
InfiniView for Exchange has already produced strong customer traction in the industry and a growing list of global customers who have adopted Mendocino's Exchange recovery technology including L'Assemblee Nationale, Continental Airlines, Etihad Airlines, Gavleborg Hospital and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
"Conventional backup and restore products just can't meet the evolving Exchange recovery requirements, particularly those that have to do with backup window, data loss on recovery, and recovery time, " said Steve Colman, President and CEO of Mendocino Software. "InfiniView combines a number of hot technologies - disk-based recovery, continuous data protection, application awareness, and brick-level recovery - in a single solution that maximizes Exchange uptime while providing faster, more flexible recovery than every before."
In addition to strong end user adoption of InfiniView, Hewlett-Packard is a key OEM provider of InfiniView-based technology to large enterprise customers. The company offers InfiniView-based solutions under the HP Continuous Information Capture designation and sells Mendocino's Exchange recovery technology under the brand name HP CIC Object Recovery for Exchange.
Mendocino's InfiniView 2.1 for Exchange software is priced starting at $34,000 and is available immediately.
