University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management Taps Xirrus for Its Wi-Fi Network

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Xirrus, Inc., the leading provider of high-performance, long-range Wi-Fi products, announced today that the company has deployed its Wi-Fi Arrays at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. The Xirrus solution is part of the University's campus-wide Wi-Fi network delivering high-performance wireless networking for the school's students in the MBA, Master of Finance and Executive MBA programs.

The Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays are deployed throughout the Rotman School, where all students are required to own a laptop and use the Wi-Fi network extensively as part of a course curriculum built around Integrative Thinking(TM) and Business Design(TM). The Wi-Fi network enables access to various University resources, external sources, and the School's Portal, where students can access a variety of program information and content including digital media.

Reliability and capacity issues within the Rotman School's previous Wi-Fi network prompted the School to evaluate several wireless vendors in live trials. Xirrus was selected to deploy its solution for its performance during these extensive trials.

The University of Toronto deployed a mix of XS-3500 and XS-3700 Wi-Fi Arrays and the entire Rotman School of Management was covered using only 18 Arrays.
