Plug and Play Appliance Allows Employees to Easily and Quickly Retrieve Lost Data Without Requiring IT Resources
AUSTIN, Texas -- Crossroads Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CRDS), a leading provider of Business Information Assurance (BIA) solutions for guaranteed access, resiliency and security of enterprise information, announces SurePath[TM] ShareLoader[TM], a plug and play appliance that ensures total data protection across all employee machines without requiring IT resources. Additionally, employees can quickly and easily retrieve lost data themselves, reducing IT overhead.

Why ShareLoader?
ShareLoader is cost- and time-effective appliance managed from a central location, allowing data protection for laptops, desktops and remote offices (data "on the edge") without requiring IT overhead. Seamlessly integrating into existing backup environments, ShareLoader automatically protects "edge" data. ShareLoader delivers a simplified, sharable and secure alternative to traditional backup and recovery by combining the benefits of disk combined with the long-term advantages of tape media for archiving and disaster recovery.
ShareLoader Automatically Protects Your Data "On the Edge"
Designed to aid departmental and branch offices of large enterprise organizations (including those with mobile workforces) and medium business of all sizes, ShareLoader offers a reliable effective way to address a serious problem faced by most organizations:
* How does an organization ensure that critical data being created by its workforce on employee machines, such as data stored to a C: drive, is not lost in the case of theft or a hard drive crash?
* How can employees utilize enterprise tools to recover lost or overwritten data, that doesn't require IT resources to do the job for them?
Also, because ShareLoader helps organizations to protect data traditionally not backed up, it has great benefits for organizations subject to governmental compliance requirements regarding data protection.
Farm Credit Picks ShareLoader To Protect Its "Edge" Data
"ShareLoader seamlessly integrates into our current backup infrastructure and provides a centrally-managed, complete data protection solution across the organization without using additional IT resource requirements," said Budd Trippet, Senior Network Administrator at Farm Credit Bank of Texas. "In our industry, it is imperative, especially due to compliance regulations, that all of our data--including information residing on laptops, desktops and remote offices--be secured and quickly retrievable without using IT resources."
IT administration tasks and costs are reduced as ShareLoader is managed from a single Web-based interface offering automated event logging, notification and report generation. Additionally, ShareLoader offers automatic tape migration based of capacity thresholds and tape rotation policies.
"ShareLoader is a powerful solution for SMEs, especially department and branch offices, that offers a uniquely comprehensive solution for business continuity by aiding organizations in protecting all critical data," said Rob Sims, President and CEO of Crossroads Systems. "As organizations are rapidly growing, ShareLoader is a solution that cost-effectively allows a seamless and secure solution to a problem almost every company faces--how do we secure data living on our employee's machines, and how can the employee restore data quickly?"
How Does ShareLoader Work?
ShareLoader emulates the functionality of a unique drive and small library to each connected host system by combining the best of disk-based backup with tape storage using the organization's IP-based network. Allowing clients and servers to share tape backup resources, ShareLoader provides secure network storage, optimizing and consolidating data access to backup resources.
ShareLoader emulates a traditional tape library that is sharable between 100 machines. ShareLoader accelerates, restores and provides nearly immediate access to data, drastically reducing recovery time objectives (RTO). With the use of lossless data compression, the cost of storage media is further reduced through better capacity utilization.
