Avnet Supply Chain and Logistics Expert John McGowan to Lead Case Study Discussion on Demand Collaboration
PHOENIX -- Avnet Logistics, a specialized logistics provider and division of global technology distributor Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), and Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the world's leading provider of programmable solutions, will co-present a case study on demand collaboration at The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' (CSCMP) 2007 Annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pa. The case study discussion will be led by John McGowan, senior vice president of operations for Avnet Logistics, and Lori Pouquette, director of North American customer service and XDF planning for Xilinx. The session will be held on Oct. 23 at 4:00 p.m. ET in room 204C of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
In this session, "Demand Collaboration Case Study," the presenters will explore supply chain strategies such as moving to demand-driven manufacturing and consolidated inventory points. They will also discuss processes for managing forecasts, and how collaborative planning across groups of customers can be put into practice. Avnet Logistics and Xilinx will share the results they've achieved through these strategies, which have optimized Xilinx' finished goods inventory while enhancing order fill rates.
"Our case study moves beyond academic strategies to drill down to the people, process tools and IT automation needed to understand demand signals," said McGowan. "We'll share best practices based on first-hand experience that participants can apply within their own companies to improve operations and efficiency."
