170 Buy Side Equity Traders Gather at TradeTech West to Discuss Imminent Market Issues

Business Wire, Oct 22, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO -- Both buy and sell side equity traders gathered to discuss the increasingly difficult challenges facing their trading desks at the second installment of TradeTech West on September 24 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

"TradeTech has become the meeting place for equity traders," said Ian McRae, Executive Director of TradeTech North America. "Our presence in New York, San Francisco, and Toronto allows us to attract those traders who have difficulty leaving the trading desk and we continue to be pleased with the turnout and the positive experience of our attendees."

Arthur Levitt, Chairman (1993-2001), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission gave the keynote address. Doug Fore, Director of Portfolio Analytics at TIAA-CREF and viewpoints from firms such as AIM Investments and AXA Rosenberg Investment Management also addressed the 300+ attendees.

150 traders representing various asset management firms gathered at Monday's buy side only Trade Performance Summit and discussed the latest trading tools and technologies from ITG, Bank of America, Bear Stearns, Bloomberg Tradebook, Lehman Brothers and Pipeline Trading.

The rest of the conference officially kicked off on Tuesday evening with an exclusive Art of the Vine reception where traders gathered to network and discuss the presentations of the day. "Cigars hand rolled in front of you, wine tasting, and meeting my colleagues?" remarked one trader speaking on anonymity, "It was one of the best cocktail parties I've been to."

"What makes TradeTech so unique is the quality of the speaking faculty and the interactive structure of the program," said Amit Das, Managing Director of Worldwide Business Research, the firm that produces TradeTech globally. "Over the years, TradeTech has been tailored to encourage discussion around practical case studies and "real life" examples giving the attendees executable strategies for their trading desk to implement immediately upon their return from the conference."

TradeTech was launched as a premier senior level conference for equity traders in 2001 in Europe. In 2005, Worldwide Business Research brought the equity event to the US market to rave reviews. More than 500 delegates attended the premier US event in 2005 and attendance has increased steadily since. With shows in Canada, San Francisco and New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, TradeTech is now the conference of record for equity traders in Europe, Asia and North America.

TradeTech Canada will run December 4-6, 2007 in Toronto, ON and TradeTech USA will run March 3-6, 2008 in New York, NY.
