Company Also Donating More than 20,000 Items to Aid Volunteers and Victims

CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Rite Aid today announced that The Rite Aid Foundation is making a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to help the victims, families and communities affected by the wildfire devastation in San Diego County in southern California.

Rite Aid also has shipped items including eye drops, lip balm, sunscreen and hand sanitizer as requested by the Red Cross chapter in San Diego County to be distributed at shelters for evacuees.

Rite Aid customers impacted by the Southern California wildfires can continue to fill or pick up their prescriptions at any open Rite Aid, even if their neighborhood store has been evacuated. This includes prescriptions that have been filled at a closed store but not yet picked up. Any other patient with prescription needs can be helped at any Rite Aid location.

Any Rite Aid pharmacist can fill the prescription because of the company's satellite-linked computer system. Customers can find which stores are open in or near the areas affected by the fires by calling 1-800-RITEAID (1-800-748-3243) and pressing "0" or asking for Customer Service. The Rite Aid call center will be open tonight until Midnight Pacific Time. Store location information is also available by visiting www.riteaid.com.

"Our hearts go out to the victims, families and communities affected by these devastating wildfires," said Mary Sammons, chairman, president and CEO of Rite Aid. "We are hoping that our donations can help make it just a little easier for those who have been impacted the most."

"We are grateful for Rite Aid's support of our relief efforts for the Southern California wildfires, and thank them for their contribution and commitment to the community," said Joe Craver, Interim CEO of the American Red Cross - San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter. "Support from partners like Rite Aid will enable the Red Cross to get help to those who need it most."
