Latest Addition to Planview OpenSuite Integrates Market-Leading Portfolio Management and Change Management Solutions Enabling New Investment Analysis and Release Management Capabilities

AUSTIN, Texas -- Planview, the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, today announced from BMC UserWorld the latest addition to the Planview OpenSuite family of interoperability solutions, Planview OpenSuite for BMC Remedy Change Management, which seamlessly integrates Planview Enterprise with BMC Remedy Change Management. This integration results from the strategic relationship with BMC Software announced in June 2007 to offer joint solutions that integrate the Planview Enterprise portfolio management application suite with BMC's market-leading Business Service Management (BSM) solutions.

Developed for joint BMC and Planview customers who need integrated investment analysis across all IT projects, Planview OpenSuite for BMC Remedy Change Management provides a bi-directional Web interface between Planview Enterprise Project Portfolio Management and BMC Remedy Change Management. This integration provides organizations with an efficient, ITIL-compatible approach to ensure that change requests are captured and aligned with the overall strategy, optimized based on resource availability and financially tracked to understand application total cost of ownership.

"Operational changes within the IT infrastructure represent one of the primary sources of unplanned downtime, and projects are a major driver of changes," said Patrick Tickle, Executive Vice President of Products at Planview. "Integrating portfolio management with change management enables better decision making by bringing operational changes into the broader IT portfolio. This integration gives IT operations managers more business insight into change, and ultimately increases the operational effectiveness of introducing project driven changes into the IT infrastructure."

Enabling real-time transfers of specific change requests directly into Planview Enterprise, users have the ability to add a change request to an existing project in Planview Enterprise from within the Remedy Change Management system. Additionally, the user can create a new project from a single change request or group of change requests. Multiple change requests are often grouped into a release to address broader initiatives, which are better managed by Planview Enterprise.

An immediate benefit for organizations working to comply with ITIL processes, Planview OpenSuite integration allows a user to create a change request from Planview Enterprise and seamlessly transport the change request into BMC Change Management. According to ITIL process, no change can be made to an operational system without a change request documenting the change, which is meant to aid the service desk in troubleshooting. In addition to ITIL compliance, Planview OpenSuite for BMC Remedy Change Management also allows organizations to:

* Initiate a project-driven change from Planview Enterprise

* Aggregate change requests into a group for release management

* Optimize resource utilization across the organization

* Track the actual costs over time of change requests to projects at a granular level

* Align and prioritize projects

Planview OpenSuite for BMC Remedy Change Management will be available in Q4 of 2007 for joint Planview and BMC customers. For more information, visit www.planview.com.
