CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Acceleron Pharma, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutics that modulate the growth of tissues including bone and muscle, announced that the Web Marketing Association ("WMA") awarded a "Pharmaceutical Industry Standard of Excellence" WebAward for 2007 to the Company.

Acceleron's website was created to accurately inform all key target audiences about the Company's R&D strategy, product pipeline and corporate vision. The website was designed, developed, and launched by Embarc, Inc., an Interactive Marketing Agency based in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts.

WMA, an organization devoted to establishing high standards for Internet marketing and corporate Web development, annually recognizes the individual and team achievement of Web professionals who create and maintain outstanding corporate websites. More than 2,400 sites from 40 countries were adjudicated in 96 industry categories during this year's competition. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.
