Sycamore Announces 2007 Annual Stockholders Meeting

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Sycamore Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCMR), today announced that its 2007 Annual Meeting of Stockholders is expected to be held on December 20, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., EST at the Radisson Hotel, 10 Independence Drive, Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Stockholders of record as of October 22, 2007 will be entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting. The Company expects to mail a definitive proxy statement relating to the 2007 Annual Meeting on or after November 19, 2007 to the stockholders of record.

The 2007 Annual Meeting date represents a change of more than 30 days from the anniversary of the Company's 2006 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. As a result, the Company has set a new deadline for the receipt of any stockholder proposals submitted pursuant to Rule 14a-8 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, for inclusion in the Company's proxy materials for the 2007 Annual Meeting. Such proposals should be delivered to the Company by the close of business on October 19, 2007. The Company recommends that such proposals be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested.
