BETHESDA, Md. & IRVINE, Calif. -- University of California, Irvine Extension, the pioneer of the first "Spa and Hospitality Management" certificate program on the West Coast, also the first and only fully-online certificate program of its kind in the United States - announced today the appointment of Dr. Marc Micozzi to its prestigious advisory board of local and national industry professionals.
"UC Irvine Extension is thrilled to count Dr. Micozzi as one of the members of its 'Spa and Hospitality Management' advisory committee," said Angela Jeantet, M.B.A., director of the Education Programs Unit at UC Irvine Extension. "Marc is truly one of complementary and alternative medicine's (CAM) pioneers. His prolific textbooks on the subject have proven to be the international standard in integrative medicine. His perspective should provide our program with unique opportunities for growth and diversification."

He has also served as Executive Director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University, and a faculty member for the new CAM curricula at Drexel University in Philadelphia. "UC Irvine Extension's Spa and Hospitality Management Certificate Program offers a high-quality and valuable educational experience for those spa professionals seeking to enhance their business and management skills," said Micozzi. "I look forward to working with UC Irvine Extension to develop and hone curriculum that further equips spa professionals."
Known for providing current and up-to-date curriculum on the cutting-edge of what is in demand in continuing education, each of UC Irvine Extension's specialized certificate programs consults with an advisory board of national and local business leaders from various organizations and roles within the industry. These boards meet twice per year to identify industry trends, consult on the development of new and existing curriculum, provide insight into instructor and speaker selection, and discuss ways UC Irvine Extension can better meet the educational needs of the industry they represent.
