Business Wire, Oct 8, 2007
Paris, Web Capital of The World December 11 and 12, 2007 Philippe Starck, Benjamin Bejbaum, Esther Dyson, Joi Ito ... Once again, the Internet's key players and entrepreneurs get together at Le Web 3. Reservations are now open.
PARIS -- On the 11th and 12th of December, Paris will be home to the fourth edition of Le Web 3 (www.leweb3.com) which will take place at 'Docks de Paris' (Porte d'Aubervilliers). This event, which is now the biggest meeting of bloggers in Europe, brings together key Internet players and innovative entrepreneurs. Reservations for the two days of conferences are now open at www.leweb3.com.
Last year's Le Web 3 was a sell out. Shimon Peres opened the 2006 edition that was attended by 1,350 people from 36 countries who came to exchange ideas during the conferences and debates led by Niklas Zennstrom - founder of Kazaa et Skype, Reid Hoffman - founder of LinkedIn, Tariq Krim - founder of Netvibes and Marc Simoncini - founder of Meetic, amongst others.
This year's event goes beyond the sphere of Internet alone. For example, Philippe Starck will be there to present his vision of the Web.
The programme is based on the theme 'Technological Developments - Behavioural Revolution', dealing with social networks, virtual worlds, on-line games, design and technology and the impact of technology on our behaviour and society. All these themes will be discussed by personalities such as Joi Ito, Esther Dyson, Om Malik, David Weinberger, Michael Arrington, etc.
But, above all, it is once again Internet-entrepreneurs who will be in the spotlight. StartUps who wish to make themselves known are invited to register and 30 of them will be selected to present their company to visitors, a panel of experts and capital-risk investors. The finalists will then take part in a plenary session to be held on the second day.
This 4th edition is supported by historical partners such as Google, Nokia, Microsoft, Six Apart, together with a number of new partners including 3i, Ads-click, Steek, cafe.com, etc.

About Web 3:
The first edition of Web 3, inspired by Loic Le Meur (http://loiclemeur.com/France), and referred to as "Les Blogs", took place in April 2004. This year sees the fourth edition.
The idea is very simple: that Paris should be the Internet and blogosphere capital of the world for two days.
For the first edition, 250 bloggers from more than 15 countries got together at the Senate in 2004. Speakers already included world-famous key players, bloggers and entrepreneurs including Jason Calacanis, JoI Ito, Doc Searls, Yat Siu and Yossi Vardi.
Today, Web 3 is largest European event of its kind.
