New Edge Positioned on Analyst Firm's "Magic Quadrant" for Remote Access and Mobility Services
Business Wire, Oct 9, 2007
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- New Edge Networks, the business communications unit of EarthLink Inc. (NASDAQ:ELNK), said it is among 10 communications providers included in Gartner's 2007 Magic Quadrant for Managed Remote Access and Mobility Services.
Gartner Inc., a global information technology and advisory company based in Stamford, Conn., assessed solutions providers in this category based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision. Gartner's Magic Quadrants are visual snapshots of market direction, maturity and participants.
Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for U.S. Managed Remote Access and Mobility Services, 2007" was published Oct. 6. Eric Paulak, Gartner's managing vice president of network services and infrastructure, authored the research report.
"Inclusion in Gartner's Magic Quadrant I think underscores the recognized value of our ReadyOffice solution for businesses with distributed workforces that need easy and secure access to corporate information systems," said Greg Griffiths, vice president of marketing for New Edge Networks.
In response to customer interest, New Edge Networks introduced ReadyOffice in October 2006 to complement its suite of wide area network services.
ReadyOffice offers an easy-to-implement "software as a service" solution with no upfront capital investment. It eliminates the additional strain on IT support for initial setup and ongoing management. Businesses simply download the network connector software, define internal access policies, and provide the service to their employees in as little as 24 to 48 hours.
