Human Resources Executives Invited to Participate in No-Cost Benchmarking Research: APQC Metric Research Modules Designed to Help Organizations Increase Productivity and Efficiency

Business Wire, Oct 9, 2007

HOUSTON -- Now that human resources has assumed a more strategic role within the enterprise, HR departments across the globe are being asked to help businesses enhance their overall performance through better management of employees. To that end, HR executives must ensure that their own human capital management (HCM) processes are productive and efficient.

APQC, an internationally recognized resource for process and performance improvement, is inviting organizations to participate in its newly enhanced HCM benchmarking research studies. Participation in any or all of the studies is confidential, free of charge, and accessible at www.apqc.org/new/hcm. Open studies include:

* Create and Manage HR Planning, Policy, and Strategies

* Recruit, Source, Select Employees

* Develop and Counsel Employees

* Reward and Retain Employees

* Manage Payroll

* Redeploy and Retire Employees

* Manage Employee Information

In addition to the studies listed above, APQC has recently announced a new "HR Organization" research module designed to capture a balanced dashboard of high-level HR functional metrics that have particular relevance to HR directors and managers.

According to Rachele Williams, HCM practice lead for APQC, each participant in these studies will receive a complimentary, validated, custom benchmarking report. The report will provide detailed analysis on performance across multiple dimensions, including business model, people, process, technology, cost, cycle time, process efficiency, and staff productivity. The quantitative analysis will compare the participant organizations' performance to that of median and top performers in categories such as industry, geographical region, and size.

The custom report will also showcase the best practices and key success factors leveraged by top-performing organizations. These insights will help participants better understand gaps in their organizations' performances and identify opportunities for improvement.

APQC's research covers every major process that a human resources department performs across the entire HCM life cycle, from HR strategy-setting to redeploying and retiring employees, and maps these against more than 125 standard performance measures. Participants will receive a common glossary of terms to ensure consistent understanding of the survey.
