Previously Available Only to MontaVista Clients, Multi-Day Courses Now Accelerate Product Development for All Companies Considering Embedded Linux
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- MontaVista Software, Inc., the leading provider of Linux[R] for intelligent devices and communications infrastructure, has opened its embedded Linux training classes to non-customers. This new wider availability enables embedded Linux developers and project managers from all companies to use MontaVista[R] hands-on training to create better products and to accelerate their time-to-market.
"MontaVista training enabled us to set up our development environment quickly and gave us first-hand experience with tools such as NFS mounting," said Scott Stern, program manager for Compunetix, which develops state-of-the-art multimedia multipoint telecommunications systems, both in the commercial and government markets. "Learning on development systems with target boards and actual code was invaluable, and the instructor was an expert. He gave us tips we wouldn't have gotten online or from reading a manual. Our project is definitely further along than it would have been without MontaVista training."
The classes open to the public are interactive courses including such topics as "Embedded Linux System Development Jumpstart," "Embedded Linux Foundation for Managers," and "Device Drivers with MontaVista Linux." These offerings include classes for managers new to embedded Linux and intensive hands-on multi-day courses for developers.
"For years our customers have told us how much our courses have benefited their projects. They tell us that we provide the knowledge their design teams need to reduce development cycles and minimize risk," explained Irene Lefton, director of worldwide training for MontaVista Software. "We are excited to extend the same benefits to companies that are not MontaVista customers."
MontaVista training courses are now available for everyone. Course descriptions, prices, registration, and schedules are available at http://www.mvista.com/learn
